Staying at B&B Ai Colli means immersing yourself in the most authentic part of Vallagarina, a territory where nature is not just scenery but a living experience. Here the Adige River shapes the valley floor as a natural guide, while the hills around Rovereto rise gently, opening the door to high plateaus, forests and peaks that wear a snowy mantle in winter.
Just minutes from the B&B, you can move from the quiet of hillside trails to the most important cycling network in southern Trentino, and on to high-altitude routes and historically significant places. It’s an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts, whether for a relaxing bike ride, a scenic hike or a major sports event.
Rovereto is a central hub for the Valley of the Adige Cycle Path, one of the most popular cycle touring itineraries in the Alps. The route, mostly paved, flat and protected, follows the river from Bolzano to Trento and continues south through Mori, Ala, Avio and Borghetto toward the Veneto border.
Cycling along the Adige, you’ll pass vineyards, historic villages and well-tended countryside, with frequent rest areas that make this route perfect even for families. From central Rovereto and Borgo Sacco you can easily head north toward Trento, while to the south you connect with the scenic Adige–Garda Cycle Path, leading to Lake Loppio, Nago and Torbole, and ending at Riva del Garda, with breathtaking lakeside views.
For walkers, trails begin practically at the doorstep of the B&B. The hills around Rovereto offer accessible yet atmospheric paths, such as the Bosco della Città between Lizzana and the Adige, ideal for refreshing walks amid ancient trees and peaceful clearings.
A particularly notable route is the Sentiero delle Teragnòle, carved into the rock and suspended between Rovereto and Terragnolo. This ancient path, once used by mountain women selling local products, offers wild panoramas over Valgrande and Valduga, blending nature, effort and historical memory.
The Monteghello Loop is a circular hike starting from the Castello di Rovereto and passing Noriglio and Zaffoni. It’s an easy but scenic walk that overlooks Rovereto, Mori and Vallunga, enriched with numerous World War I remnants.
Ascending in altitude, trekking turns into a historical journey. Hikes up Monte Cengio and Monte Zugna cross trenches, tunnels, fortifications and restored military cemeteries, transforming the ridge between Vallagarina and Vallarsa into an open-air museum.
The sporting spirit of Rovereto also shines through in its events calendar. The most famous is the Palio Città della Quercia, an annual international track and field meeting held at the Quercia Stadium.
Alongside major competitions, the area hosts experiential events like the Trentino Experience Festival, featuring guided excursions, outdoor activities, wellness moments and entertainment. There are also initiatives dedicated to youth and solidarity through sport, such as the Trofeo della Pace.
Even in winter, Vallagarina remains an ideal base for an active holiday. In about 40 minutes from the B&B you can reach the ski area of Folgaria–Lavarone, offering over 100 km of ski slopes, snow parks and cross-country trails. For those who enjoy a slower pace, snowshoe hikes on Monte Zugna offer silence, scenery and an authentic mountain experience.
Returning to B&B Ai Colli after a day in the open air becomes the perfect time to relax and prepare for a new adventure among sport, nature and the landscapes of Vallagarina.
